Solar panel grants in Ireland

Grants towards solar panels, batteries and EV chargers

Grants in Ireland are run by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) for homes and non-domestic buildings, and by the Department of Agriculture under TAMS 3 for farms. DMP Energy is a registered SEAI installer, and we prepare and submit the application for you, so the paperwork never holds up the job.

There is no reason to leave funding on the table. The rules are straightforward when the documentation is right the first time, and that is the part we look after.

  • The SEAI PV solar grant of up to €2,100: €800 per kWp for the first two kWp, then €250 for each kWp after that.
  • A grant of €300 towards the purchase and installation of an EV charging point.
  • DMP Energy is a registered SEAI solar company, so your claim is handled by an approved installer.
  • Electricity you generate yourself is free, which helps protect you from rising energy costs.

How the process works

Four steps from application to payment

We carry out most of these steps for you. You'll only be asked for what we genuinely need from you.

  1. Appoint a registered installer

Get quotes from SEAI-registered solar installers first, so you know what you will be paying before the application goes in.

  2. Apply for the grant

The application form is completed online, with your bank details for the payout. Check those carefully before you continue.

  3. Evidence submitted

Your installer sends the technical documentation supporting the claim to the SEAI. We prepare and send this for you.

  4. SEAI processes the claim

Once the documentation is received, the SEAI reviews the application and confirms that the grant is approved before payment is released.

Eligibility

Who can apply

In short: most homes built before 2021, most businesses and public bodies, and most registered farmers. Here is what that means in practice.

Homes

For a house built and occupied before 2021, fitted with new materials by an SEAI-registered installer. The rate is €800 per kWp for the first 2kWp and €250 after that, capped at €2,100.

Business and public bodies

Businesses, schools, community centres, non-profits and public bodies can apply under the Non-Domestic Microgen Grant, from €900 at 1kWp up to €162,600 at 1,000kWp.

Farms

The Solar Capital Investment Scheme under TAMS 3 covers 60% of your spend on solar PV for the farm, to a ceiling of €90,000.

Grants cover materials and labour, unless you are a contractor carrying out the work in your own home. Applications are straightforward when the documentation is right the first time — if you are not sure which scheme applies to you, call us on 01 575 8040 and we will tell you.
